I was down at the scrap yard (did I mention I love my scrap yard) and found an old snow blower with broken belts. It had a Tecumseh HM80 engine on it with the sno-king mods and it still had some gas. To my surprise it started right up. Well, the one guy that works there doesn't like me and saw that I was after the engine. He was in the tractor with the claw grabbers and treads. I had to go get a couple wrenches from the car and when I got back he was moving the tractor out of the way so he could get at the pile where I was at with the snow blower. I started taking out nuts and bolts as fast as I could. Just when I got the engine off, there he was coming on the fork lift to push the junk up on the pile, including the snow blower. Haha, he wasn't fast enough for my mad engine skillz. So now I have a spare engine with a decent carb, plus a mounting plate for the gas tank, all for only $20.38.
Some of the other interesting stuff there was a roots blower and a spool #22 magnet wire. I didn't have enough money to get those things though, so maybe some other day. Anybody know much about roots blowers? (-->RED<--)
Anyway, this is the Tecumseh forum, so back to the engine. My mind is working at 100MPH thinking of all the things I can do with this engine in the mean time: air compressor, water pump, pressure washer, etc.
