After the people I got it from dropped it off I was looking at everything and noticed the spring on the tc was super stretched out and coming out of it place any ideas on how to put the spring back in place?

Why not just replace it with a new one, sounds like it's been streatched out if it's coming out of place or the buttons are missing that holds it on, you can always upgrade the spring to yellow or green, depends on your taste :) they are inexpensive, have a look Here.
