Dune Cat

I have a chance at getting a dune cat with original seat cushion,roll bar,paint ,even stickers.What would you guys say somthing like this is worth?

not sure what a dune cat is, what engine and drive system? does it run? need more info!

I googled it for a pic but there's only 1 decent pic. It runs fine, was made by Muskin Co. 1972 I think. 5 hp BS

Yeah, that's the first 1 I've ever seen.Was real clean,and all original. I looked all over the net for info on them but there really isn't much out there.Probally never see another 1 either with my luck.

Well SOB..I could have gotten the 1 in Rhode Island for a cpl hundred bucks.Looked identical to that 1. I was laid off at the time ,and a cpl hundred was like a million. That's my damn luck!

We had the Dune Cat as kids in VA...Then in the mid 70's my parents moved to the sandhills area of NC . And with some of the roads still being sand it was only natural to move the DuneCat to NC....And thats where the CAT resided until about 6mos ago. I have done only minor work to it...cleaned the carburetor and air filter is about it ! Its been fun to ride again..the neighbors have also enjoyed riding it!
I have had a few people write me just because they owned one as well and they havent seen one since they were kids...

Well Rob, it is X-mas time! Ya don't even have to wrap it for me. Something like that I don't think I could sell.Would be hard to really put a price on it after all those yrs. I did a lot of google'n and surf'n around for some info on the 1 I was looking at and there isn't much info out there on them.I'll keep my eyes open for 1 and maybe get lucky,but yours and the 1 I saw are the only 2 I've seen (wonder how many where made) but ya never know. Ooo and a *late* welcome to the forum Rob....PS..Did yours have a little chrome roll bar on the back at 1 time?

I dont have much info on the CATs either...I received an email from an enthusiast trying to buy back a Dune Cat he originally owned but the new owner wouldnt budge.... So we know that there are at least 3 on the planet...I have also been told I am asking to little for mine! Maybe I should contact Barrett Jackson ! LOL ..

Mine did not have a roll bar and I have never seen one like that... I do know that HPE Muskin produced a minibike and a tri-bike (I think it was called a Skat CAT?) ...And that HPE was a cement company out in California..but I dont know the relationship b/t cement and ATVs...guess it was a promotional thing or something....

I'ld imagine there is a few out there,probally few and far between ecspecialy in the shape yours is in.I'm sure there's a collector out there somewhere that would kill for it. I'm gonna keep looking around for some more info on them.I'ld really like to know how many they made.Have ya thought about throwing it on E-bay with a reserve price on it.Maybe even just to see what kinda $$ people would be willing to spend on it.I'll let ya know if I find anything else out about them.
