ideas?

i'm new here but not to the go karting world. i was wondering if someone could give me some ideas on how i could upgrade my offroad Fox 2x5 LXT go kart into a faster more all terrain go kart so i can beat my friend's little motor scooter.

Depends on how much money your willing to put into it? Bigger engine, big bore kit, cam mod, re-jet, custom exhaust, depends on what you what. It all cost money.

i may be able to put around 500 dollars into it but probably not all at the same time

I would start with a bigger engine, then work your way up from there. Or..... sell your gokart and buy a faster buggy! angel

the original 5hp tecumseh engine already shat out on me so i got a 6.5 hp engine from harbor freight for like 85 bucks

The two best bang for the buck power adding options are a header and an intake and carb re-jet.

For the header i would check out Robertson Kart Pipes and the other stuff you can get them from NR Racing or Affordable Go Karts. Good luck and keep us posted on your mods.
