Removing Live Axle

Postby blakebammeyers » Wed Apr 27, 2016 1:41 pm

Hey guys, new to the forum. So I just recently bought an old Murray Explorer frame. I also bought a brand new Harbor Freight Predator 212cc engine, and a knockoff comet TAV2-30 torque converter. Still had the old torque converter on it, but the clutch and belt for it was still on the engine... which had been stolen according to the previous owner of the frame. All of the parts are pretty rusty, and could use a paint job. The brake caliper has no padding on them, so it is just metal on metal. Actually, the caliper doesn't work. The lever that is attached to brake rod doesn't move. So I have to replace the whole brake system. Now the whole point of this thread: I need to remove the tires and live axle from the frame. Can anybody help me out?
